We leave the resort at 9.30 am for the peninsula of Bukit and Uluwatu. A staircase lined with frangipani trees will lead you to the entrance of the holly  Pura Luhur Uluwatu Temple, on top of a 80 meters high cliff, overlooking the Indian Ocean. You can visit the temple, surrounded by macaques.

Further you can stop in the village digged in the cliff itself, Suluban, and have a tea or coffee while admiring the local surfers gliding over 4 meters high waves. No « amateur » here. Don’t forget to go down to the cave, to have a look at the legendary surfer departurebetween cliffs and current.

Then Padang Padang beach (remember the moovie with Julia Roberts “Eat Pray Love” ?). Turquoise water, white sand. The access is through a hole in the rock.

Next one is Balangan, nice little beach with restaurants on stilts. Here you can drink fresh fruit juice, eat something, or simply enjoy a relaxing moment on a deck chair, facing the ocean. Possible nap or swim.

You can end your day in Jimbaran, a fishing village, where you will discover the local fish market. Here, in a small “warung”, feet in the sand, you will enjoy the fish or shellfish you have chosen yourself on the stall, grilled on coconut bark. Facing the sunset, candlelights when the night comes, a local band playing around… An unforgettable moment.
